This week, we’re celebrating a milestone of 63 years since our journey began. Our story stretches back to 1962, when Arthur Clayton founded The Auckland Sheltered Workshop and Training Centre - a pioneering step toward creating work opportunities for neurodiverse and differently abled people in Aotearoa.

What started as a small, sheltered workshop in Henderson has grown into a thriving social enterprise with a bold and ambitious vision for the future.

Today, we proudly employ 122 neurodiverse and differently abled staff and we’re just getting started. Our aspiration is clear: to grow our team to 300 employees by 2030, creating even more meaningful and inclusive work opportunities across Aotearoa.

Over the years, we’ve expanded our services to include eco-friendly cleaning products and a wide range of B2B services - including refurbishing, kitting, packing, food services, and cleaning. No matter the task, we believe everyone deserves the chance to contribute, grow and be valued for their unique strengths.

We’re proud to partner with a wide range of organisations across New Zealand, supporting their goals while helping drive real social impact. For our team, this work means more than employment - it means confidence, purpose, independence, connection and opportunity. And it means a great deal to their wider whānau, who see the positive impact that meaningful work brings to everyday life.
